Overview

When there are some harmonics in the grid, the tuning filter composed of capacitors and reactors in series should be used for reactive power compensation, so as to avoid the occurrence of resonance. It will not amplify but filter out some harmonics, and improve power factor at the same time. LRAC low-voltage static reactive power compensation device is the tuning compensation device switched by contractor.


Application

The devices are mainly used in municipal buildings with air conditioners, energy-saving lamps and other equipment, such as schools, living quarters, etc. or industrial projects with stable current operation and no frequent load fluctuations, such as uninterrupted production factories, assembly line workshops, etc.

The device consists of Lafaelt capacitor bank, detuned reactors, power factor controllers, circuit breakers, fuses, contractors, lightning arresters, temperature controllers, fans, voltage ammeters, current transformer cabinets and other accessories.


Reasonable arrangement: the capacitors is placed below the reactors to prevent them from being affected by the reactors’ heating and extend their service lift.


Multiple tuning frequencies can be selected to suppress 3rd, 5th or 7th orders harmonics, to protect the capacitors and prevent system resonance.

Remark: when the reactive power compensation cabinet is a mixed compensation cabinet, in order to ensure heat dissipation, it is recommended to divide the single cabinet with capacity over 350kvar into main and auxiliary cabinets.

Series connected 14% filter reactor with split-phase compensation, the model is LRTS525-300/11-14、LRTS525-480/20-14 main and auxiliary cabinets.
